City of Roswell, Georgia - August 2013 - January 2015
Hired in this role to carry out projects involving installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the City of Roswell’s private cloud environment, networks, and servers. Currently, I am providing technical input and recommendations to the management team for the city’s IT infrastructure and capabilities.
Lead engineer for the city’s entire VMware infrastructure, which consists of 18 sites city wide.
Migrated the entire virtual environment to new hosts and datastores.
Replaced the layer2/layer3 switching backbone for Roswell.
Managing the city’s network security and intrusion prevention/detection systems.
Implementing new city wide wireless solution that will cover all of Roswell’s sites.
Upgraded/migrated the city’s email infrastructure from Exchange 2008 to Exchange 2013.
Developing and improving the city’s current disaster recovery plan and processes.
Design, install, and monitor all IT infrastructure WAN & LAN network equipment and servers used by city government, public safety, and local citizens.
Communicate with various suppliers, vendors, and other local agencies regarding the IT infrastructure.
Diagnose, analyze, and solve any issues involving the network, virtual environment, servers, software, etc.
Create documentation which includes diagrams of the IT infrastructure and user manuals for internal and external users.
